Case: Eckerö Line
Workwear for ship and shore personnel
We renewed the workwear for Eckerö Line's ship and land staff together with the users. The staff will be wearing the new workwear in the future. It exudes timeless, relaxed and functional elegance.
It is important that workwear feels comfortable to wear, as shifts on board are often long. The material requires flexibility, durability and breathability.
The new look was given to the uniforms of the kitchen and customer service staff as well as officers and supervisors. The base color of the new collection is black, which is a timeless color typical of workwear. The accent colors are orange and copper, which are visible in the details, such as anchor-patterned ribbons, sleeve badges, bow decorations and Eckerö Line logos.
The employee can choose and layer their dress or suit with the collection's clothes as they wish. The accent colors bring unity to the whole. The collection is designed in Finland and the clothes are manufactured locally in Estonia.
- The timelessness of products and collections has been a career-long value choice for me, as I want the clothes I design to last as long as possible and thus do my part in taking the environment into account. It is great that Eckerö Line also embraced implementing the values of sustainable development, says Kirsimari Kärkkäinen.
End-of-life Eckerö Line workwear is recycled by Dafecor Oy in Finland. It manufactures textile nonwovens for industrial needs, such as oil absorption.
